Uttarakhand is a state in the northern part of India and it was formed on 9th November 2000 as the 27th State of India, when it was carved out of northern Uttar Pradesh. It is commonly referred as Devbhumi due to the many Hindu temples and pilgrimage centres found throughout the state.
